About 20 000 people gathered in the Staples Center in Los Angeles to pay tribute and remember Kobe Bryant, late basketball star, and his daughter Gigi.

The two passed away in a tragic helicopter accident and their memorial was held in LA.

Beyoncé paid tribute to the father and daughter and her performance tugged at hearts, causing the eyes of fans to tear up.

Kobe and Gigi passed away with 7 other people in the accident that shook the world in January.

Queen Bey was dressed in all white, according to a report b TimesLIVE, and sang his favourite song, XO.

She encouraged the emotional crowd to sing along, and this got them even more emotional.

Briefly.co.za reported that Vanessa Bryant remembered her husband and daughter in a very emotional tribute.

She described Gianna as a sweet and gentle soul saying she regrets she will never witness her wedding.

Kobe, 41, was also eulogised by former NBA Legends Michael Jordan who broke down in tears. The widow chose 24 February as the date for the memorial in honour of the pair's uniform numbers.

Meanwhile, it was also reported that Vanessa is suing the owner of the helicopter which killed Kobe and Gigi.

Vanessa's suit against the company came just days after her hubby and daughter were laid to rest.

She sued for damages from the company for allowing the helicopter to fly in bad weather condition, causing deaths. The suit also implicated the pilot for excessive speed in the weather conditions.
