Former leader of the Democratic Alliance Mmusi Maimane invoked a polarising reaction from South Africans in the past.
However, since his unceremonious departure from the official opposition party, Maimane's reputation seems to have received a huge boost.
Maimane has been very active via Twitter of late and Briefly.co.za gathered that he's been receiving lots of love from Mzansi.

Although he's left the DA, Maimane has continued to vocalise his dissatisfaction with the ANC on various fronts.
Earlier, Briefly.co.za reported that Finance Minister Tito Mboweni announced bailouts for struggling state-owned entities.
Following the annual budget speech, Maimane took to social media to deliver his customary commentary and critique.
However, the former party leader has commented on a wide range of issues - from mediating between DJ Maphorisa and Prince Kaybee to engaging in comical banter.
One thing's for sure, South Africans are loving the unfiltered version of Mmusi.
