American rapper, Nicki Minaj, is apologizing for a spat her husband encountered during the Trinidad and Tobago Carnival festivities.

Born in Saint James, Port of Spain, Nicki is a native to the area. The rapper returned to the country she was born in to participate in the festival. Dressed in a teal costume, Nicki waved to her fans from a parade truck. learnt that she was accompanied by her husband, Kenneth Petty, who was at her side. Iwer George, a Trinidad and Tobago artist, was performing not too far from the couple.

Fans witness George reaching over in an attempt to get Nicki to join him. Petty did not take this lightly and proceeded to push George’s arm away and gave him a look of objection.

After many people saw this happening, social media saw some drama. Nicki’s fans made it known that she should address the situation. There was one Instagram message from a fan that indicated that Petty should loosen up.

Nicki did, however, respond to the message. She tried to put the record straight by indicating that her husband is always in security mode. She went on to say that he is not familiar with their culture but apologises on his behalf.

She said that she loves her country and the people to death. She added that maybe she has explained to her husband that the atmosphere is relaxed and family orientated. She also shared that hubby Petty had never attended a carnival in his life, not even in Brooklyn.
