- The Orlando Pirate coach dropped the S-bomb after the match which he immediately apologised for
- He admitted that he was a sore loser
- His focus is on keeping his team motivated
In the heat of the moment and the frustration of losing his first Soweto derby resulted in the Orlando Pirates coach Josef Zinnbauer to lose his cool. He dropped the S-bomb after the match when he was asked about his team's performance.
Briefly.co.za learned that the Buccanneers kept the pressure on the Kaizer Chiefs throughout the match, playing the attacking style that Zinnbauer has been known for but it was not enough and the Chiefs walked away with the victory 1-0.
“We made a good performance and I am sorry for the result which was s***‚” he said before he quickly apologised.
“I am sorry for this word that I used and I hope you understand but I am a bad loser.
"Whether you know me or you don’t know me‚ I am a bad loser. We did our best but we did not have the little extra thing that you need to win the derby.”
The pirates are still third on the log but the Chiefs are on top with an extra game in hand which paints a bleak picture for the Pirates hopes of reaching the final according to the sowetanlive.co.za.
Zinnbauer said that moving forward was important and that the team needed to remain focused and motivated.
“Now it’s important that we keep our heads up‚" he said.
"It is easier for me to say that we have a good performance but we lost the game and I am not happy about this.
"You saw the atmosphere inside the stadium from the fans‚ it was a great from both supporters.
