Rami Chuene is a seasoned actress who has been entertaining South Africa for many years, most notably on Scandal! and The Queen.

She has become a strong and dominant figure in the acting world but has always shown warmth and love for her fellow actors and actresses.

That is why the beautiful story that Rami shared on social media did not come as a surprise.

Rami shared a thread in which she told her fans how she and other ladies used to support each other. They would go for auditions together, not to compete, but to stand united.

As long as one of them bagged the role, they were happy.

Rami reminisced about a time when artists carried each other, and while some of them still do, it has become a more cut-throat business.

But the kind of behaviour that Rami described is something that her fans have come to expect of her.

"Back in the day when we started out in the industry. We had an undeclared circle of one where, if one got called for an audition, we’d call each other and all go - as long as one of us got it.
"I remember people like Sonia Mbele, Flo Masebe, Lucia Mthiyane and many others, we used to fax each other scripts and rock up at auditions prepared. We’ve had moments of lending each other clothes and shoes so we all looked the part.
"We gave each other lifts, shared taxi money, used each other’s make-up even though we were all different shades. Yes, we even shared wigs, hats and doeks. Whatever it took, we did it.
"If one of us got offered a job but not available to do it, they quickly suggest someone else. No role was left unturned, no opportunity wasn’t filled."
