AKA was hyped up when he performed over the weekend and in his excitement, he thought it would be a good idea to try and crowd surf.
It wasn't a good idea though - people were having a blast and their hands were occupied with phones recording the performance and their drinks.
There weren't any hands freely available to catch the musician and he fell to the ground, perhaps bruising more than just his ego.

Despite not being able to get up immediately, AKA continued to perform, earning himself the respect of his fans.
It's not clear if the Fela in Versace singer got badly hurt but judging by the lack of info from him, he was alright in the end. No news is good news, right?
This isn't the first time that he failed when trying to crowd surf. Two years ago, Briefly.co.za reported that the muso attempted to have crowd carry him around it went horribly wrong.
Instead of passing him around and returning him to the stage, his fans all wanted a piece of him. This resulted in the rapper being stormed by fans, who were trying to touch him.
It looked more like a ‘now you see him, now you don’t’ trick when AKA fell back into the crowd.
AKA had fans confused a little while ago when he tried out a new hairstyle. The muso went with a true African appearance - dreads.
However, while some of his fans loved it, others felt it's just not 'him'. He has since dropped the look and returned to his 'normal' style.
Maybe he took the criticism seriously and decided to give his fans what they wanted - the AKA they know and love.
