Cassper Nyovest stated on Twitter that he doesn't understand why South Africans have so much dislike for local celebs.
Although he phrased his opinion as a more light-hearted question, peeps took it seriously and reacted quite heatedly.
According to social media users, celebs are far worse towards each other than fans and haters are.

"The hate y'all have for South African celebrities is beyond me..."
Social media users quickly pointed out the fact that it does seem like celebs cannot stand each other - point and case being the ongoing 'beefs' between musicians. Cassper and AKA are known for not being fond of each other at all.
"What about the hate yall have amongst yourselves as celebrities."
"And the hate SOUTH AFRICAN celebrities have for each other is worse."
"Bro, we don't hate you celebrities. You guys hate each other. You are so selfish. Between you celebrities and street people are better than you guys."
Another tweep shared that (according to him) SA doesn't have celebs, only clowns.
"South Africa doesn't have celebrities, it has clowns. Celebrities are overseas."
Some food for thought was shared by one tweep who thinks it is because of the wealth that celebs have.
"It's poverty, an empty stomach hates a full one."
Meanwhile, Briefly.co.za reported that Cassper was performing when two eager fans got onto the stage with him.
This didn't sit right with his followers who were quick to condemn the behaviour - they think it is unacceptable.
The reaction may not have been a good one but it's clear that there is a lot of love to be shown for Cassper.
