Mzansi rapper Nadia Nakai has praised Netflix's Queen Sono for including all the African elements and she was especially fond of the use of African language isiZulu.
Briefly.co.za recently reported about how well the series was doing on the streaming charts taking the number one spot in two African countries. Pearl shared on Twitter that Queen Sono was the most-streamed on Netflix in South Africa and Kenya and it was at number two in Martinique.
Nadia pointed out how great it was to see a coloured woman activist which she hasn't seen in most African drama's after comedian Loyiso Gola tweeted that he loved it.
Nadia had previously dragged Netflix for how she felt it promoted international shows compared to local ones.
Apart from Pearl the six-episode series also features some of Mzansi's most popular stars. The series was also shot locally, in some of SA's popular spots such as Johannesburg CBD, Sandton and Soweto.
“When Queen gets to HQ and the finger recognition granted access in Zulu!!!! Oh man! That gave me serious black panther vibes! Yassss WAKANDA!” she wrote.
