- Former TS Galaxy coach Dan Malesela says he is open to coach Chippa United again
- Malesela has been fired by owner Siviwe "Chippa" Mpengesi on three separate occasions
- Former head coach Norman Mapeza resigned on Monday
There are a few well-known expressions which are meant to warn people from repeating the same mistake.
"Once bitten, twice shy" and "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me" come to mind, but could former TS Galaxy coach Dan Malesela be a sucker for punishment?
Having been fired by owner Siviwe "Chippa" Mpengesi on three separate occasions, Malesela said that he never wants to speak about Chippa again.
However, Briefly.co.za recently reported that Norman Mapeza recently resigned as head coach and Malesela has seemingly availed himself for the position.
“Ja, I will,” said Malesela when asked by TimesLIVE whether he would be open to another term at the Eastern Cape-based outfit.
Malesela touched on his rationale, despite having been burnt before.
He said, "I’ve said that in the PSL Chippa [Mpengesi] is the only one who offers me jobs all the time. So why not?"
Malesela was lauded last season for his exploits with TS Galaxy, as he masterminded their Nedbank Cup triumph at the expense of Kaizer Chiefs.
Many were taken by surprise when Mapeza tendered his resignation, but his successor would have noted the trigger-happy nature of the club.
