Ntombifuthi Dlamini had no experience in acting when she was approached to join the Uzalo cast.

In fact, the lady was a cleaner at a local clinic.

A talent scout spotted Ntombifuthi when she was on her way home from work one afternoon.

She started off as an extra and worked her way up to a series regular.

Ntombifuthi now plays the part of Mrs Madala and is much-loved by viewers.

The actress told the story of her humble beginnings on Twitter feed this week.

Fans were delighted at Ntombifuthi's incredible stroke of luck and the fact that she's clearly an arts natural.

One wrote, "When the time is right, God takes you from zero to hero. That's a real motivation. I'm patiently waiting for my time to come."
Another wrote, "Thank you for opening up the industry. We've been seeing the same faces on TV for a long time. Thank you once again."
