- Thando Thabethe has handed in her resignation at 5FM
- The entertainment all-rounder said she'd like to concentrate more on her acting
- DJ Fresh, however, implied there might be something more negative that prompted the resignation
Thando Thabethe has confirmed that she's resigned from 5FM.
Thando has hosted The Thabooty Show for five years and has been in radio for 11 overall.
Her final show goes on air tomorrow.
Thando said her reason for leaving is a desire to concentrate more on her acting career.
She told Channel24, "We had to make a very difficult decision, something we've had to ponder over for many, many months. Basically, I've tendered my resignation at 5FM. And the idea is to focus on the things that I want to do.
"I start shooting Housekeepers season 2 on Friday, and we're broadening horizons into the world in that sphere."
Thando was previously a main cast member on Generations for a while.
DJ Fresh, who was with 5FM for years as well, seems to believe there might be something more negative to the story that Thando is not telling us.
He tweeted, "And that was probably not the most difficult decision to make. Sad loss for radio."
Thando is also a club DJ. It's not clear if her exit from radio will affect her club gigs.
