Popular basketball player Dwyane Wade and his wife Gabriel Union are proud parents and nothing can take that away from them.

The two supported their 12-year-old daughter Zaya when she transitioned from a boy to a girl despite the background noise and criticism from fellow celebrities.

Wade could not hide his joy when he got to witness his little girl’s youth concert performance on Sunday, 29 February.

To the proud dad, the singing, the dancing and the whole performance was electric but his daughter was by far the best part of the whole experience.

The player and his wife actually gave their little girl a standing ovation after being blown away by how talented she was.

Their faces had huge smiles plastered from ear to ear as they watched their daughter embrace her freedom and live her own truth.

“A feeling of great pleasure and happiness! That is what watching Zaya sing and dance last night felt like for our family,” Wade wrote on Instagram.

The two were so happy they decided to give Zaya a cute bouquet of flowers.

Wade’s 12-year-old came out as transgender in February and decided to transition to a girl after years of “living in the wrong body”.

The little girl came out to her parents one day when she returned home.

She was known as Zion back when she still identified as a boy.

The bubbly girl even asked her folks to refer to her as she instead of he.

Wade and his wife felt proud of Zaya and referred to her as witty, smart, outgoing and confident.

Later on, a few celebrities castigated the two for allowing their child to mess with God’s creation.

Boosie and Young Thug claimed Zaya was always meant to be a boy and she should have stuck to how she was created.

They even claimed God does not make mistakes and everything he does is perfect.
