Maritzburg United is fourth on the Absa Premiership log after beating Polokwane City 1-0 n Friday night.
The game started out slow and after going back and forth, Daylon Claasen finally scored in the final eight minutes of the game.
Maritzburg welcomed the win and gushed about the victory online. However, they did not end the night before clapping back at an earlier post Polokwane City made on Twitter.
Polokwane posted a snap of the team warming up and they called the game against Maritzburg overrated.
"Overrated for who?" Maritzburg cheekily asked after winning the game.
South Africans have since reacted to the outcome of the match, resulting in 'Maritzburg United' trending on Twitter.
Xolile Mpisane, who goes by the Twitter handle @XolileSports, commented:
" Weh. Don't bet against Maritzburg. But most importantly, don't bet against Maritzburg United at home."

Meanwhile, in other sport related news, Briefly.co.za reported earlier Mamelodi Sundowns captain Hlompho Kekana extended his contract for four years.
After signing his new deal, Kekana warned Saturday's opponents Al Ahly that the Brazilians would be going all out to win the encounter.
Sundowns will need to overturn a two-goal deficit to progress to the next round of the CAF Champions League.
