- After four years on Isibaya, Menzi Ngubana is heading in a new direction
- His fans have been disappointed by the news and soon rumour had it the popular actor was fired
- Menzi responded, saying that he leaves the show as a happy man
One of South Africa's most admired male actors, Menzi Ngubana, has been part of Isibaya for four years but is now moving on.
He leaves the show, where he played the role of villain Judas Ngwenya, as the character's story is coming to an end.
Many fans are not pleased with this at all.
News about Menzi's departure broke not so long ago, but rumours about it soon started spreading.
Peeps were convinced that Menzi must have been fired and refused to believe that he would leave the show willingly.
However, that is just what happened.
The Citizen reported that Menzi's manager, Naomi Mokhele, said he leaves Isibaya with a happy vibe and that he had fun playing Judas.
"Menzi leaves Isibaya with a happy heart having enjoyed his role as Judas Ngwenya.
"There have been misinformed reports that Menzi was dumped by the producers of Isibaya. We would like to clarify that the character has run its course and unfortunately if there is no story to be told, the character will ultimately die.
"Menzi is leaving Isibaya on a positive note having contributed to a great production and most importantly, he entertained South Africans."
Menzi's departure comes just after Nomzamo Mbatha's character, Thandeka, also left the show after being fatally shot, Briefly.co.za reported earlier.
One can't blame fans for getting emotional when their favourite characters are leaving the shows.
