Hollywood actress Taraji P Henson opened up about the bad experience she had with making use of weaves.
She had decided to try it after wanting to protect her hair from the strain of treatments and regular changes for films.
The 49-year-old said she didn't like the idea of weaves because of the horrible stories she had heard about them.
But eventually, she made peace with the idea, and this led to an embarrassing moment.

"The first time I went to get the weave taken out, it smelled like mildew. I was so embarrassed.
"I was washing my hair, but what I wasn’t doing was drying the weft. When you have a weave or an install, your hair is braided down and then sometimes they sew a [hair] net down on top of that and then they sew the hair tracks on top of that. So, my dilemma was, how do I get to my scalp?
And this is what led to Taraji's new hair care product that is suitable for all hair types, not only natural hair, Briefly.co.za learnt.
She's very proud of Ultra Chill scalp serum. It brings calming and refreshing relief directly to the scalp, with no rinse needed.
