Australia was unable to gain an advantage against South Africa and lost the series 3-0 in an embarrassing whitewash.
What was also ironic, their highest-scoring batsman put 108 runs on board in a desperate effort to salvage a win in the series. He happens to be Marnus Labuschagne, a South African-born Australian cricket player. He had over 50 family members in the crowd cheering him on.
However, the Proteas were in charge of the match from the beginning and cruises to a six-wicket victory over their Australian rivals.
All is not lost for Australia, they will be hosting the T20 World Cup later this year after winning the previous 20-over series.
