With fears of the coronavirus spreading faster than the virus itself, South Africans have begun taking measures to ensure their safety.

Hand sanitiser is sold out in shops, people are wearing masks and attempting to maintain distance from anyone who might be infected.

However, it's not always easy keeping your distance from people, especially not when everyone is cramped in a taxi.

A hilarious video was shared on Facebook showing taxi passengers freaking out after one of them sneezed.

The clip was posted on Facebook on Sunday by Tshepo Tsebaie Mokoena and it already has 146 000 views.

In the video, someone sneezes twice before a gogo goes off about the Covid-19 virus.

Meanwhile, Briefly.co.za earlier reported Africa's first Covid-19 death has been confirmed. Egypt has reported its first death due to the coronavirus on Sunday. A German tourist had contracted the virus and was receiving treatment in the country.

While the situation is no laughing matter, South Africans did find the time to make jokes. Saffas have taken to social media to share how they are getting ready for a possible coronavirus outbreak.
