Although gender-equality has been achieved on many fronts, there still remains some industries that are stubbornly still male-dominated.
Perhaps it is down to the physical nature of the work, but the construction industry is one of them.
A female construction worker still sticks out like a sore thumb due to the low number of women working within the sector.

However, Briefly.co.za gathered that pioneering businesswoman Thandeka Nombanjinji-Nzama is breaking the mould.
Realising the shortage of female expertise in the sector, Thandeka founded Mbokodo Building Pty Ltd.
The 100% black female owned business specialises in the fields of building and civil engineering.
It's worth noting that Mbokodo offers a range of property development services and boast the ability to do civil works.

Well-known philanthropist and entrepreneur Collen Mashawana shared the inspirational news via Facebook on Monday.
Perhaps Mashawana and Thandeka will one day work together as the popular businessman regularly builds home for impoverished communities.
Briefly.co.za recently reported that Mashawana handed over a brand new house to a family who lived in a shack for three decades.
