Former Mamelodi Sundowns star Khama Billiat made a name for himself under the guidance of coach Pitso Mosimane.

However, since joining Kaizer Chiefs, the Zimbabwean has struggled to reach those highs during his time at Naturena.

The drop-off in performance hasn't gone unnoticed and Mosimane shed light on how he was able to get the best out of the player.

Mosimane signed Billiat as a 22-year-old from a struggling Ajax Cape Town side and turned him into a world-beater.

Mosimane said, "Khama played different football [at Sundowns back then]. Khama is totally different. It's unbelievable - every week I am watching."

Daily Sun reported that Mosimane told Billiat that he's the best footballer that Zimbabwe has ever produced and that he could go onto great things at Sundowns.

The 'Downs mentor also revealed that Billiat is a confidence player and needs a coach who reinforces the belief in his ability.

Mosimane added, "He is a totally different player and you've got to know how to deal with him, soft and he also likes to be told he's a star."
