South Africans will now have the opportunity to showcase their athletic abilities during a try-out for WWE.

The WWE company will be holding two-day try-outs during their live tour. The successful candidates will be taken to the state-of-the-art WWE Performance Center in Orlando‚ Florida‚ USA to train, The Sowetan reported.

WWE executive vice-president‚ Paul Levesque - who is known by his stage name Triple H - said he wants to bring back some of SA's "rough" athletes.

“SA is renowned for producing tough‚ uncompromising athletes, proven by the hugely dominant performance of the Springboks rugby team last year to become world champions‚” he said.
“I want to bring those same dynamic‚ powerful and entertaining qualities from SA’s best male and female athletes to WWE."

Triple H concluded his message by calling on all athletes and performers who want a career in entertainment wrestling to apply.

He said:

"My message to every athlete and performer in SA is simple: this is your chance to change your life. Take this opportunity to follow your dream and represent South Africa on the global stage as a WWE superstar.”

Briefly.co.za previously reported Paul Wight, aka 'The Big Show', is coming to South Africa as part of the WWE live tour.

The tour will kick off in Cape Town on 29 April before setting off to entertain fans at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban the following day.

The finale will be held at the Ticketpro Dome in Jozi on Friday, 1 May and Saturday, 2 May. Fans can expect a star-studded line-up that includes Seth Rollins, Becky Lynch, Charlotte Flair, Bobby Lashley, The O.C., Ricochet and Aleister Black.
