There is some good news for the weekend, thanks to some improvements at Eskom, this weekend, South Africa will only experience stage 1 load shedding.
Eskom released a statement explaining that loadshedding would be reduced to stage 1 on Saturday.
This is due to an improvement in power generation and low demand for the weekend. This is a reduction from stage 3 on Friday, to stage 2 and now stage 1.
Koeberg Unit 1 is also back online and has helped reduce the need for loadshedding.
In other news, Briefly.co.za reported that Bill Gates will be stepping down from the board of Microsoft.
40 years after founding Microsoft, Bill Gates will be stepping down from the board of the company as well as the board of Berkshire Hathaway, a conglomerate which is run by Warren E. Buffett, a close friend of Gates.
“I have made the decision to step down from both of the public boards on which I serve — Microsoft and Berkshire Hathaway — to dedicate more time to philanthropic priorities including global health and development, education, and my increasing engagement in tackling climate change,” Mr. Gates wrote in a LinkedIn post.
