- Meet Faldela Geduldt, a woman proving that age is nothing but a number
- At 51, Geduldt graduated with a law degree at the University of the Western Cape
- However, like many other graduates, now she struggles to find a job
A woman, Faldela Geduldt, is living proof that age is only a limit if you allow it to be. Geduldt took to social media to gush about bagging her LLB degree at the University of the Western Cape at the age of 51.
Her post read:
"I decided whilst doing my Islamic studies to empower myself more and therefore applied to do my LLB Degree and was accepted at UWC. Here I graduated in August 2018 at the age of 51. I also joined the Law school in Rondebosch to complete my PLT (legal practice training) and finished December 2019. Yet I am struggling to find employment after making so many applications, too many to mention. But I am hopeful and for having this group on my side."
Take a look at her post below:
South Africans were inspired by the post and many prayed that Geduldt find a job.
Laura Mc Carthy commented:
"Well done to you, your determination and drive have got you this far don’t stop now. Such a wonderful achievement. May you be blessed abundantly."
Carmen Andries Jonkers said:
"Yeas. Whoop. Age has no limit. I am proud of you. Well done."
Jayson Makasi wrote:
"You've already overcome a milestone by earning yourself that degree, you'll overcome the rest."
Meanwhile, Briefly.co.za previously reported on another student who graduated despite of his age. However, where Geduldt graduated at 51, Carson Huey-You, a 17-year old genius, has graduated from the Texas Christian University (TCU) with a master's degree in physics.
The teen prodigy has a 14-year-old brother, Cannon, who is following in his footsteps. Carson's mother said she always knew her children were nerds and that they had promising futures.
