Lotto winners: KZN man bags R53m, petrol station employee claims R3m

A 43-year-old's high bets on the Lotto finally paid off. The KwaZulu-Natal played Lotto on his FNB app and ended up walking away with a whopping R53 million.

The married man used the quick-pick method to select his numbers, The Sowetan reported. The winning numbers were 15, 16, 17, 29, 37, 39 and the bonus number 47.

Meanwhile, another man came forward to claim his R3 million winnings. The petrol station supervisor from Secunda played on 19 February but he forgot about it and only checked his ticket last week.

Ithuba revealed he's a regular player who always uses the same numbers for each draw.

Previously, reported on another big Lotto winner. A 35-year-old woman from Soweto has bagged R114 million in the Lotto Powerball jackpot. The mother of four, who struggled to make ends meet, used R5 to buy the lottery ticket.

According to the new millionaire, she purchased the ticket at a café in Roodepoort, using the coins she could scrape together in her purse.

She plans on buying a new car and flaunting it in front of her ex - whom she claimed dumped her because she did not have a fancy job.
