Makhadzi's fans were ready to pop champagne with her to celebrate her latest purchase - a Maserati SUV.

The fabulous whip can cost around $77 500 (around R1.3 million) at the least and isn't something many of us ordinary folks can afford.

Her fans are all for seeing Makhadzi do well and they were happy for her, but it turns out the purchase never happened.

The photo that started rumours was shared on social media with a caption that created the wrong idea.

However, according to Makhadzi's brand manager, Talifhani Banks, she liked the Maserati and decided to take a picture in front of it but did not buy it.

Briefly.co.za reported earlier that the musician did, however, treat herself to a new Mercedes-Benz.

The singer is doing the most and everyone is in awe of her. She has emerged the fan favourite when it comes to performances at the DStv Mzansi Viewers Choice Awards.

She shut down the event held at The Dome in Joburg despite performances by the likes of AKA and DJ Zinhle.

Some of the biggest names in the business dominating the event, but Makhadzi and her talent shone brightest and both the audience and fans at home were left with no choice but to crown her the queen of the evening.

Even Cassper Nyovest had no choice but to stan the skill displayed taking to social media to praise her efforts:

"Makhadzi made me a fan tonight! Honestly! Saved the show!"
