She confirmed the news to Daily Sun but did not want to go into details on why they are getting a divorce:

The divorce comes after Criselda told her fans on social media last year about the abuse she had been suffering at her husband's hands.

She opened a case of assault, but Briefly.co.za reported that she eventually withdrew the case, much to the disappointment of her followers.

After dropping the charges against Siyolo, Criselda said he had to adhere to certain conditions, though these were never revealed.

Criselda has been going through a difficult time - she nearly lost her life due to a chronic disease last year.

As someone who is open about her HIV status, she also opened up about her brush with death, but did not say what illness had almost taken her life.

Criselda expressed how grateful she is that she found out what was wrong and that she is getting the medical care that she needs. Coming that close to death can change a person’s entire life.
