Portuguese star Bruno Fernandes has been named Manchester United player of the month for March for the second consecutive month.
The midfielder got his reign at Old Trafford off to a flying start - scoring three goals and four assists in his first nine appearances for the Red Devils.
Having joined the Premier League club from Sporting Lisbon in a five-year deal valued around €55 million from Sporting Lisbon in January.
The attacker beat off competition from Nigerian star Odion Ighalo, Fred and Harry Maguire to win the prestigious prize.
Ighalo gave a good fight in the chase for the gong after scoring three goals in four matches in all competitions in the month under review but his contributions are not enough to help him win.
Briefly.co.za learned that this award is coming weeks after being voted the Premier League player of the month and PFA Fans' Premier League Player of the Month for the month of February.
His impressive displays have helped Man United close the top-four gap on Chelsea - with just three points between the two clubs.
He also played a crucial role in their Europa League campaign as they are one leg into the quarterfinals with their 5-0 win on the road over LASK before coronavirus crippled all activities.
Fernandes has shown he is a proven goal scorer way before joining the Red Devils after scoring 63 goals and 52 assists in 137 matches for Sporting CP.
