There has once again been criticism with regards to rapper AKA using autotune. There is talk that he stole it from overseas artists.

AKA took to social media to straighten out the autotune saga. He explained to the fans by breaking down his decision to use autotune and how it is a part of who he is as an artist.

Briefly.co.za learnt that the rapper said that he has been keeping up with the executing of live autotune in South Africa and in his opinion no-one has implemented it correctly.

AKA claims that he has always used autotune and it hasn't been an issue seen as he's sold hundreds of thousands of records despite it.

It is only now that people have climbed on board on Twitter starting to complain. AKA also said that the haters have no avatars.

AKA went to claim that he is the autotune OG! He says he was using autotune before any other big name, even those hip-hop stars in the US. It was when he opened for Migos and saw their equipment that things changed.

It was a close call when AKA’s team took the initiative to collect information about their equipment they were using. The team nearly got into a brawl gaining these deets. After this they started using it themselves.

Responding to the comments made that he is not talented due to the fact he cannot sing and does not know how to play any instrument, AKA said he can hold a note, he knows he cannot sing, is able to play the mouse but does not know how to play the piano and he has been using auto since Victory Lap.

He went on to say that people do not criticise Travis for using it and there has been no criticism towards Pitch Black Afro for using the exact same flow as Busta Rhymes so on that note he rests his case.

AKA further commented that should people want to listen to singers, they can listen to Sjava and Tshego. He is fully aware of his strengths and weaknesses. He will carry on executing with what God has given him.

The posts were intense!
