Theft is a daily occurrence in South Africa and no one is immune. Even our celebrities are affected by the consequences caused by these crimes. Thuli Phongolo, South African TV personality, was robbed of her cellphone.

Having your cellphone taken from you brings a load of frustration and irritation. Just the admin involved in replacing your phone, SIM swap and the hope that your personal information is not shared with the rest of the world by the culprits are worries in themselves. It also affects your health as your blood pressure goes through the roof!

Briefly.co.za learnt that Daily Sun shared that the incident occurred at Rivonia Salsa’s Village restaurant in Sandton.

It is said that Thuli was having a day out with a friend when she used her R28k phone to text another friend. This is when the unknown man took the opportunity to snatch her phone.

Once the man had Thuli’s expensive phone, he made off in a car. Daily Sun reported that Thuli did open a case of theft but no one has been arrested as yet.

Many celebrities have in the past been robbed of cars, Rolex watches and wedding rings. This shows that the criminals don’t favour any particular source.

Shame sis, sorry!

In other news, just last year Thuli Phongolo let fans in on the wildness that is her life on the daily. Being offered some change for a favour is nothing new to Thuli.

Thuli decided to spill some tea on a musician that once tried to pay her to be a part of a publicity stunt.

The 25-year-old actress explained that an unnamed artist asked her to fake a relationship with him in turn for a stack of crispy Nelsons.

It was all part of a staged publicity stunt that the musician was going to use to draw attention to him and the new music he was about to drop – Thuli was obviously not interested.
