Coronavirus: Mandela's grandson, Ndaba, tests positive for Covid-19

Madiba's grandson, Ndaba Mandela, has tested positive for the coronavirus, he confirmed on Instagram.

He is heard saying:

"I got my test results back, and they tested positive. I have the 'rona, yo! The 'rona! Can you believe that? The 'rona!"

The clip got a lot of backlash online and Ndaba decided to take it off. However, not before a social media user, @Bathandwa95, took a screen recording of it.

Social media users expressed their views on Ndaba's video and tweeps agreed he wasn't taking the matter seriously.

Twitter user, @Raymondturndai, commented:

"Doesn't sound sober this one."

Another tweep, @MadikaBekan, added:

"It's like he's acting."

Social media user, @tsiko_the_nomad, said:

"But I don’t get why he sounds excited about this development... It doesn’t look true really... hai."

Earlier, Briefly.co.za reported that Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize had announced a steep climb in the number of confirmed cases of the coronavirus.

In a statement released by the Department of Health, Mkhzie confirmed that a considerable increase in verified cases had been noted:

"Fellow South Africans, as of today, South Africa now has 402 confirmed cases of Covid-19. This means there has been an increase of 128 from yesterday's announcement."
