A Chinese carmaker, Geely, has found a creative and safe way to ensure that new car owners take possession of their properties without physical contact with anyone.
Briefly.co.za understands that Geely has made provision for delivering keys to new cars by drones in a bid to limit contact with people.
From February 2020, the company has made it possible for customers to order their cars online and have them delivered to either their homes or offices.
They have used this method to sell over 10 000 cars but the delivery of the keys is a new concept being explored.
Geely explained that its unique way of operating is in line with a plan of "furthering the distance between staff and consumers and creating a truly contactless process."
Even though the company didn't identify the spread of the coronavirus as the reason for its strategy, a spokesperson for the company indicated that concerns about the virus compelled it to adopt an innovative approach in doing business.
