SA can't believe woman steals during lockdown shopping: “Satan granny”

President Cyril Ramaphosa announced a nationwide lockdown which commenced from Thursday evening.

The news sent many into a frenzy and the shops were filled with panic buyers.

During this time, a case of pickpocketing allegedly took place at one of the retail stores.

Video footage revealed how an elderly woman targeted a fellow shopper and nabbed something from her bag.

The unsavoury incident caused a stir after it was shared by South Africa Live on Thursday.

Briefly.co.za gathered that South Africans were even more upset as the selfish act took place on the eve of the 21-day lockdown.

The unfortunate reality is that the victim may now be without money or groceries during this challenging period.

John Matlosa said,

"I wish shop did something with this satan granny."

Wayne Fisher added,

"Can't help themselves. With all the issues going on and they still have time to go out stealing."

Owuraku Asare felt that the gogo should have known better:

"A full grown woman who is old enough to be someone's mother/granny risking your life to pick empty purse and what if u get caught It seems like others are born to steal."

Ahmed Ali was left disillusioned by what he saw:

"I really hate my skin colour."

Another case of theft left South Africans baffled as a video revealed a man stealing three municipal rubbish bins.
