- DJ Maphorisa feels all artists should be using this time to create something special
- Understanding music from a business perspective is key, and Maphorisa urges all artists to gain this knowledge
- While Maphorisa has plans for these 21 days, he has still been hit by the coronavirus limitations - his Scorpion Kings Live concert has been postponed
DJ Maphorisa has decided to use these 21 days to create some music magic.
While the whole world is suffering from uncertainty, we need to use this time wisely and think of the end goal.
Briefly.co.za learnt that Maphorisa has plans to create a few new lit tracks during the quarantine.
Speaking to Drum, Maphorisa expressed how important it is for artists to understand the industry from a business perspective.
Maphorisa feels that if more artists had business knowledge, they would then rely less on gigs and actually be able to capitalise off this lockdown.
“Content is how people will make money during these times, but in these tough times it all boils down to what I said about understanding the business of music. Performances are not the only form of income for us and we should explore as much as possible.”
While Maphorisa has plans for these 21 days, he has still been hit by the coronavirus limitations. His highly-anticipated Scorpion Kings Live concert at Sun Arena had to be postponed – it will now take place 9 August.
The show must go on, just a couple months later though!
In other news, Emtee is taking full advantage of this lockdown. He will be using these 21 days to tie up all the loose ends on his album Logan so that he can finally drop it.
