- Actor Hungani Ndlovu is a survivor of domestic violence
- The Scandal! actor shared the news with his fans via social media
- He did not specify whether he was abused by his new wife before they got married or by someone from a previous relationship, or even whether it was by a partner and not a family member at all
Actor Hungani Ndlovu is still dealing with internal scars of domestic violence from an unspecified situation.
Hungani, well-known for his role as Romeo in Scandal!, opened up about being in the abusive home situation on social media on Monday.
The newlywed wrote on Instagram:
"The calm before my life took a left turn. Heading down a road I was very unfamiliar with and never thought I would travel but here I am today... standing tall as a survivor of domestic violence."
Hungani, who is now married to actress Stephanie Sandows, also revealed that he has tried so many facial treatments to hide the scars he sustained during the abuse but has not healed internally.
"I've used so many tissue oil brands and facial treatments to repair my skin as best as I possibly could to hide the scars. Funny thing is the scars that need healing and dealing with most are internal. #MotivationMonday you're almost there champ!"
Hungani did not divulge whether he was in an abusive relationship with a woman or even whether he was abused by someone else who was a lover at all.
One of his fans, tatendamudavanhu, asked:
"Did your new wife harass you? Or you are talking about an older experience with somebody else?"
"What if it's her then what? And if it's not her then what? Knowing the answer to your question will do what for you or for me?"
His fans also reacted to his revelation.
"You are so brave, many men would not have the courage to do what you just did. So proud of you, God didn't take you through that for nothing, it's your testimony... use it for the extension of His Kingdom."
"Wow!! What a testimony. True that the scars that need healing are internal. You are brave."
"Only time will tell. You're brave. Lovely."
