American beauty and ex-wife of deceased rapper Nipsey Hussle, Lauren London, has penned a sweet message in memory of the man she loved with all her might.
Briefly.co.za learnt that one year after the artist passed away, Lauren declared she never expected to get through the past 12 months or even pick her broken pieces and mend her heart.
The mother of two penned a heart-wrenching Instagram post to commemorate the kindness of Nipsey and mark his first death anniversary.
According to the beauty, she is still in love with her fallen husband and will always keep his memory alive for the years to come.
Lauren said thus far, prayers and the grace of God have kept her standing and she tries her best to be strong and present for the kids.
She was glad that the memory of her partner still keeps her strong and she is proud she was once attached to a man who was regarded as the pillar of his community.
“Time is deceptive, it has been a year since you transitioned. The pain is as heavy today as it was a year ago and God knows I would give anything to see you again. I did not think I was going to survive a second of any of this but prayers have kept me together. The kids keep me going and God’s grace and mercy have carried me this far,” Lauren wrote.
The rapper’s wife added she recalls every conversation they ever had when he was still alive and admitted Nipsey has been with her in spirit.
She promised to carry his vision and make sure his name is remembered through the projects launched shortly after his death.
“As today makes a year, I stand strong because of you. Because I know you would not have it any other way. Because I recall every late night conversation we had about resilience and fear,” Lauren added.
The Grammy-nominated rapper was shot dead on March 31 2019, outside his clothing store in Hyde Park, US.
Two other men were left wounded during the shooting.
Eric Holder, the 29-year-old man who was accused of fatally shooting the rapper, was charged with two counts of attempted murder and one count of murder.
The suspect was arrested two days after Nipsey’s death after a manhunt was launched by the authorities.
He pleaded not guilty to all charges.
