A young Ghanaian man has come out with an invention to help combat the coronavirus pandemic through effective hand-washing - an automatic device fitted to a tap.

The invention was recorded in a live demonstration that was sighted by Briefly.co.za on the official Facebook handle of JoyNews.

This particular invention employs a low-voltage device that can be fitted on any kind of bucket or container and allows water to flow on its own once a hand is put under the tap.

The invention comes in a series of similar inventions that have been made by locals in Ghana to help reduce the spread of COVID-19 through hand-washing, which is recommended by health experts as one of the best ways to prevent the disease.

Many social media users have been reacting wildly to the invention with many comments coming in.
