This week Big Zulu put AKA back in his place with ruthless precision, an enterprising woman turned her hair allowance into a thriving business and Connie Ferguson silenced her haters. Lockdown or no lockdown, Mzansi life will always be fast-paced.
From AKA being taken down a few inches to Thando Thabethe putting Lunga Shabalala in her rearview mirror, it has been a hectic week.
With all the drama at least peeps were served with a distraction from the lockdown boredom.
Briefly.co.za explores five of the hottest stories this week:
Big Zulu decided to give AKA a little taste of his own medicine – he told him to never talk to him the way he did to Cassper. AKA has not been everyone’s cup of tea lately. He has been throwing shade around like he's an umbrella!
Big Zulu took on AKA and a few of his uncensored fans on social media. AKA is all about the beef life and evidently thrives off of drama. The things he has said about poor Cassper in the past couple of weeks were not okay. Although Big Zulu and AKA had no pre-existing beef that we know of, he had no chill when it came to putting him back into place.
2020 Has barely started and there are already a couple casualties. Reason and Lootlove unfollowed each other on social media and now, it's apparent that Thando Thabethe and Lunga Shabalala are over. Thando has quickly moved on to a new man, Jaji Albortore.
Jaji owns the popular Booth nightclub and is a jet-setter of note. Jaji made it Instagram official by posting Thando as his lockdown partner. The pair looked dapper in matching black outfits.
Cassper Nyovest lost 2-1 to Trevor Noah during their highly-anticipated Fifa 20 match. The match was live-streamed to all of Cassper's social media accounts and trended for the entire night.
The fact that it attracted over 150 000 viewers is a plus for Cassper, but losing to Trevor was definitely not part of the plan.
Trevor beat Cassper 2 - 1 and his girlfriend, Thobeka Majozi, was not happy. During the last stages of their match, she commented, "Someone's sleeping on the couch tonight."
Connie Ferguson is a gorgeous woman who can rock almost any style. She recently tried a new, edgier look for this month's Glamour magazine cover. The actress and producer wore a blunt bob wig and showed off plenty of leg in a black bodysuit.
Unfortunately, the new look didn't go down well with her followers who said it was just too much for a classy 50-year-old glam-ma like Connie. It was met with criticism left, right and centre. Connie decided to silence the haters, once and for all, with another picture from the same shoot.
After losing her job, Ntando Thabethe saw potential in her large backyard. Her husband gave her R389 to do her hair but Thabethe decided to buy seeds instead.
At first, she only wanted to feed her family but today, Thabethe is running a successful business that employs 40 people.
