A love-struck boyfriend posted a pic to social media of a meal his girlfriend cooked for him. He used the opportunity to heap praise onto South African girlfriends and what they do for their men.

He captioned the pictures with the following message:

"My girlfriend cooked for me. South African girlfriends, nihlulwa yintoni? Andilwi."

The first picture shows what looks like the ingredients: butternut, spinach, cheese and baked beans. The second pic shows the finished product. Some social media users took exception to the fact that the ingredients did not seem to match the plated dish.

The final dish has rice, meat, butternut and what looks like potatoes:

@Nkulu_Leko_: Where’s the spinach ku final product?
@zela_fynn: Balance me real quick, is it the baked beans that turned to meat?
@HarrietMotlhabi: Final product does not match ingredients.
@MaleratoMalatj2: Where is the spinach and the baked beans?

Others tweeted that she was definitely wife material:

@Thobash_M: When are you gonna marry heyou? She can’t keep cooking for u for free.
@Zamie8909: And you still calling her a girlfriend not a wife and you just posted her food... be careful not to lose her to someone who'll call her a wife.
@CYnens: Can we share a girlfriend bro...
@emily_teffoM: Here for the comments but tell her to DM me for spinach and chakalaka recipe.
@MissB20_10: Sihlulwa ukuthi we don't do wife duties with girlfriend contact. Person shrugging next question!!
@Nosi_Madamthick: We don't cook for boyfriends, we cook for husbands.
