Singer Candy Mokwena has decided to not renew her contract with Oskido's record label, Kalawa Jazmee.
The star told Sunday World she's embarking on a new path and starting her own record label.
Mosekedi Entertainment is Candy's new baby, through which she will release her music.
The award-winning singer said she and Kalawa parted on a good note.
She said, "There is no bad blood between me and Kalawa. I sat down with and Oskido and said, 'The time has arrived for me to grant another young artist what I have acquired here at Kalawa.'"
"(Oskido) gave me blessings and I will forever be grateful."
Candy has entered into a distribution deal with Sony Entertainment.
Her first independent album, Still Here, is set to be released on 10 April and will consist of ten tracks.
