- A love-struck young man wouldn't let a little thing like a global pandemic stop him from dating the girl of his dreams
- What it did do was give him the courage to make the first move
- The couple shared their first long-distance date and the rest is history
Just because we are in lockdown and are not allowed to see people doesn't mean we can't date them. A determined young man was head-over-heels with a girl who lived in another apartment block.
The lengths he went to created a modern-day love story. It took a global pandemic to give Jeremy Cohen the courage he needed to ask his crush out on a date.
He saw Tori on the rooftop of her apartment block from across the street. He initiated contact with her by giving her a simple wave.
Briefly.co.za learned that he ingeniously used a drone to deliver a love letter which included his phone number. She must have liked what she read because shortly afterwards he got a text from her.
“I had butterflies in my stomach when Tori messaged back. I thought it might be too good to be true,” Jeremy said.
“We text every day and sometimes Facetime. It’s strange in the sense that we feel like the world is watching us as well as being quarantined. But we vibe well and she’s really easy to talk to.”
The two decided to go on a date, a long-distance date, for safety reasons. Jeremy sat on his balcony and Tori on her rooftop and shared a meal together via a video call.
“It’s been weird. I’m an outgoing guy, so being quarantined in my tiny space makes me crave some human interaction,” he added.
They decided to take their relationship further and meet in person. He got himself a giant hamster ball, a bubble, so they could meet each other but stay safe.
Jeremy has started documenting their relationship on his Instagram page.
In other news, Briefly.co.za covered a perfect wedding in the time of quarantine. A loving couple had their wedding despite it being cancelled. The groom went to great lengths to surprise his fiancée.
