One of Mzansi's current best TV presenter Bonang Matheba has revealed that her presenting style was inspired by the late Vinolia Mashego.

V-Mash, as she was affectionately known, passed away while in her sleep, her family confirmed on Monday.

She rose to fame during her time as a bubbly and lively presenter of one of the country's then most watched entertainment and music show Jam Alley.

Vinolia, who was one of Mzansi's best-loved icons, passed away at age 57.

Bonang took to social media to pour her heart out about how sad she is over the passing of her childhood idol.

"She inspired my entire presenting style - the vernac, catchy phrases, huge personality... she was everything I wanted to be."

She said of V-Mash's passing:

"This one cuts deep."

Bonang shared fellow TV presenter, Andile Ncube's sentiment that no TV presenter or host has gone close to Vinolia's "artistry and genius" when it came to presenting skills.

"Not even close."

Veteran TV host Felitia Mabuza-Suttle agreed that Bonang's current catchy phrases reminded her of Vinolia.
