The mother of the year award should go to Chantel Gregersen. The Durban-based mom wanted to make her son's birthday special.

Normally, parents would throw birthday parties for their kids but the lockdown regulations would not allow that. However, that did not stop Gregersen for going the extra mile to give her son, Jadin, the best 13th birthday ever.

Writing to Briefly.co.za, Gregersen revealed her son is an avid beatboxing fan. So, she decided to reach out to his heroes in France.

"I just could not believe when they responded!" she wrote, adding: "Not only did they come through for my son, they also showed such love, compassion and genuine humanity to a little boy they don’t even know."

The beatboxers sent touching messages to Jadin on his birthday and the proud mom could not have been any more grateful.

She said:

"So, this is to thank the people of France for being amazing human beings and making my son’s 13th birthday unforgettable."

While the French beatboxers made Jadin's birthday special, another little girl's day was brightened up by garbage collectors.

Briefly.co.za previously reported the little girl celebrated her birthday during the lockdown and could not have a party with all her friends.

A group of garbage collectors made her day just a little more special. They were filmed singing Happy Birthday to the girl. Middelburg Karoo posted the video on their Facebook page.

They revealed the adorable clip was filmed in Cradock. In less than a day, the clip generated more than 241 000 views. South Africans were touched by the garbage collectors' kind gesture.
