Xitsonga music icon Samson Mthombeni has been celebrated by men all over Mzansi. His recent passing came as a shock and had many remembering her remarkable musical magnificence.

Samson sadly passes away last Sunday at Elim hospital in Limpopo. Messages of condolence and remembrance have been pouring in ever since.

Briefly.co.za learnt that Samson’s passing gave rise to the #SamsonMthombeniChallenge which has seen men all over Mzansi dressing in technicoloured doeks and big hoop earrings.

Colourful doeks and big hoop earrings were Samson’s signature look, something that will forever remind people of him.

As reported by the SABC, Samson’s memorial will be held today at N’waxinyamani village, outside Louis Trichardt.

In remembrance of Samson and to celebrate the vibrant, fearless and unapologetic life he lives, fans started the #SamsonMthombeniChallenge.
