Motlatsi Mafatshe speaks on his big dream of becoming a director

Motlatsi Mafatshe is keeping his spirits high and staying focused on his dreams of becoming a director.

The talented Mzansi actor is widely known for his former unforgettable role as Sechaba Moloi in Isidingo. learnt that even though Isidingo, that has and will not stop Motlatsi from perusing a career as a director.

Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Motlatsi said, after having directed a few Isidingo episodes, there is no bout in his mind that that is where his passion lies.

Motlatsi revealed that he is currently going over some script that he would like to put into action. He believes that as a director he will be able to give others a chance to shine, just like the chance a director once gave him.

Being allowed the opportunity to gain directing experience on the Isidingo set is something Motlatsi is extremely grateful for.

“Isidingo allowed me to grow so much. I started out as a young actor and by the end was directing scenes. The producers really allowed me so much freedom and I appreciate that.”

Motlatsi believes in his skills and feels that he has a lot more to offer the entertainment industry than just acting. He has an eye for directing and cannot wait to put his plans into action and shine.

Understanding the flaws of the entertainment industry, Motlatsi feels that his experience as an actor will make him that much better of a director.

“Whenever I watch a production I see its strengths and weaknesses, what it could be doing better or how it is excelling. It's always a learning experience for me. I want other people to see it. I want people to appreciate it and understand how talented people in the industry are.”

Motlatsi misses his time on Isidingo and the crew. However, the shows ending forced him out of his comfort zone and opened a million new and exciting doors.
