Mzansi has lost yet another artist in the form of singer Zanele 'MaZet' Maseko.
The Mina Nawe group member's cause of death has not yet been revealed.
However, Mina Nawe confirmed her passing this past Sunday.
The group wrote:
"It is with shattered hearts that we announce that we've lost a big part of who we are as a band and as a family.
"Our songstress, Zanele 'MaZet' Maseko, passed away this morning. We humbly ask for your support during this difficult time as we hold hands with her family, friends and colleagues."
The award-winning Mina Nawe was one of the best-loved groups in the 2000s with songs such as Where I Wanna Be and Le Ngoma Pt. 1.
The group has won a Metro FM Award and was also nominated for a Best Pop Album SAMA.
Tributes to the star quickly poured into social media.
One fan wrote:
"Woke up to the sad news that Zanele 'MaZet' Maseko passed away. A professional, kind and sweet (lady). RIP Mazet."
"Condolences to the group and the whole Maseko family. We pray [for] God to strengthen you."
Another Mzansi star who recently passed away is Vinolia 'V-Mash' Mashego.
Vinolia passed away suddenly in her sleep last week.
The Moja Love television channel that Vinolia had recently become a part of as a presenter blessed her family with a R200 000 donation.
Bonang Matheba is one celeb who kept Vinolia close to her heart and expounded on how the older role model shaped her own journey in the presenting business.
