- A much anticipated live battle between Teddy Riley and Babyface did not go as planned
- "Technical difficulties" resulted in the battle being postponed to another time
- Social media users reacted to the hilarious failure
The much anticipated live battle between Teddy Riley and Babyface was a complete and hilarious failure. Audio issues on Riley's side of the feed resulted in the battle between the two stars to be called off.
The 400 000 viewers who logged on to watch the battle were greeted by the two legends, Riley who was kitted out for a concert and Babyface who was in a studio.
This may have ultimately been what doomed the battle, the viewers were subjected to playback music in the background and echoing microphones that made the lyrics inaudible.
Briefly.co.za learned that Comedian Lil Duval posted on his Instagram suggesting that Riley use his iPhone to record the next battle rather than trying to host a concert according to CNN.
Radio host Charlamagne tha God poked fun at Riley with a post of two old men at a computer. Singer Toni Braxton live-tweeted throughout the ordeal.
Kevin Hart posted his own parody of the battle, including a hype man in the back.
The battle was scheduled to start at 9 p.m. but by 10:30 p.m. it was called off. Babyface posted a video explaining how he felt.
Teddy Riley also apologised and said that the battle was like a "boxing match, something goes wrong we got to do it again."
