- Cassper Nyovest and DJ Maphorisa were once arch-enemies
- Cassper says it took them a few mature conversations to put their differences aside and start working together
- Their bromance has been growing daily and has brought us hits such as Phoyisa and Amalobolo
Cassper Nyovest and DJ Maphorisa's bromance is growing in leaps and bounds.
The way they are producing new music together these days makes one forget that they were once at each other's throats in December 2017.
Cassper has taken to social media to let Mzansi know that him and Phori were once arch-enemies but sorting out their differences has led to the hits they recently blessed Mzansi with.
"Me and Maphorisa used to be arch-enemies. It took a few mature conversations and we let it go cause there was mutual respect. That peace gave us the songs Phoyisa, Good For That, Ocean View, Piki Piki, Amalobolo and now Bentley! Where there is respect, things work out."
Maphorisa reportedly found himself on Cassper's blocked list a few years back after he took to social media to question Cassper's claim to have sold 10 million records.
Cassper had announced the milestone on Instagram Stories with a picture of him holding a plaque of his albums.
Maphorisa responded by calling Cassper a liar.
But their new-found bromance was getting Mzansi peeps on dancefloors across the country before the Covid-19 lockdown.
Their music also enjoys high rotation on local radio stations, therefore entertaining peeps while they are in lockdown.
Cass revealed that the verse of his Good For That hit was even recorded at Phori's house. This was after a fan asked if Maphorisa produced the song.
"Nah Tyler did but the record was made in those sessions where I went to meet Phori and the hook was recorded at his house. I met Tyler at Phori crib."
Cassper's fans commended the two stars for sorting out their differences.
"The combos are communicating."
