- The "official" state of black Twitter address was held on Monday
- President Malambane was sworn in at the online ceremony
- Malambe's cabinet included an array of social media personalities
Monday evening was a very important time for a large group of social media users.
The "official" state of black Twitter address was held on Monday and President Malambane was sworn in as the new commander-in-chief.
Twitter user UmalambaneZN (@UmalambaneZN) and new "president" shared a comical photo and included the caption:
"This evening, we gather here humbled by the memories of those men & women who gave up after MTN cut off free Twitter. However we welcome all who left Facebook to dwell on this blue app of ours. There are times when we have fallen short, there are times when we have...#SOBTA2020"
The new account was seemingly handed the baton by previous Twitter supremo Advovo Barry Roux.
As the new leader, Malambane naturally selected his own cabinet and their names were unveiled via Twitter as well:
@TakaTina1 as Deputy President
@uLerato_pillay as Minister of International relations & Foreign Affairs
@Fitzamaswazi as minister of health and fitness
@ShadayaKnight as Minister of gender equality
@CeegaWaMeropa1 as Minister of groove
@Nthapeleng as Minister of small business and agriculture
@MasekoValencia as minister of spiritual growth, faith and motivation
@Tumi_Seeco as Minister of Twerkathons
Speaking of the former black Twitter president, Briefly.co.za previously reported that parody account Man's Not Barry Roux shared a video online involving Prophet Shepherd Bushiri.
Despite the lockdown, Bushiri still called on followers of the ECG church to make donations.
