Businessman claims actress Tumi Masemola unlawfully withdrew R2.2m from joint account

- Mandla N has sued his wife and business partner, Tumi Masemola, for R2.2m

- He claims she withdrew the money from their joint account unlawfully

- They were partners in the Black Brain Pictures production company

A top businessman has sued his wife and business partner, actress Tumi Masemola, in a bid to recover R2.2 million from her.

Mandla Ngcongwane, popularly known as Mandla N in entertainment circles, claims Tumi withdrew the money from their joint business account unlawfully.

The two were partners in the Black Brain Pictures production company, which has produced several TV shows such as Mzansi Magic's Lockdown and SABC's City Ses'la.

They have also been living together for 16 years. Briefly.co.za learned from sowetan live.co.za that Tumi allegedly made the withdrawal in September after resigning from the company.

Tumi reportedly declined to comment on the claims. She said:

I'm an entertainer and I want to be known only for that and not something else.

She nevertheless confirmed that she is no longer part of Black Brain Pictures.

Mandla has reportedly asked the court to hear the matter on an urgent basis.
