On Thursday evening, the President of South Africa once again addressed the nation and he managed to calm citizens down and inspire them at the same time.

President Cyril Ramaphosa has made very hard decisions to make sure the coronavirus does not claim thousands of lives in Mzansi.

After his address on Thursday, the head of state went viral on Mzansi social media for all the right reasons.

It resulted in #CyriFridays trending on Twitter and South Africans applauded Ramaphosa's dedication to fighting Covid-19 while looking after all citizens to the best of his ability.

The head of state inspired a challenge after battling with a cloth face mask during his intense briefing on Thursday evening.

After announcing a phased approach to ending South Africa's lockdown on Thursday, Ramaphosa's mask got the best of him.

With the nation under immense stress in the face of Covid-19, the moment has become iconic and a source of endless amusement.
