The lockdown has made being with the people we love difficult. And, when one of those people passes away it can be one of the hardest things you ever go through.
Tobeka Madiba Zuma took to Instagram on Sunday to share photos of her stepfather's funeral. Dressed in protective wear, the former first lady said goodbye to the man who raised her.
Tobeka captioned the images with a heart-wrenching message that showed just how much her stepfather meant to her.
Her post read:
"To her, the name of dad was another name for love. In a beautiful way, his love came in many shades. This is the man who taught her step daughter how to be strong, when trouble came to town, and to always stand up for herself. Dear Dad, no matter where I go in life, you'll always be my number one man. They say a father holds his daughter's hand for a short while, but he holds her heart forever. I will hold on to the sweet memories... till the end of time. Thank you for loving mom because the greatest thing a father can do for his daughter is to love her mother."
Social media users sent their condolences and prayed for Tobeka and her family to be comforted during the difficult time.
Instagram user, du_singila, commented:
"May his soul rest in eternal peace. Niduduzeke njalo mama."
Judy Makgethwa added:
"May his soul rest in peace, I'm praying for healing mercies upon you. Cover the pain with layers of memories and find solace in the mighty Lord."
Another social media user, lieslpenniken, wrote:
"My heartfelt condolences ma."
